The Asian College of Veterinary Dermatology (AiCVD)-approved Residency Programme is designed to provide advanced training in veterinary dermatology and related sciences. This comprehensive program equips graduate veterinarians (referred to as "Residents") with the knowledge and skills to:
1. Develop an in-depth understanding of dermatological conditions affecting domestic animals.
2. Contribute to the growing body of knowledge in veterinary dermatology.
3. Fulfill the dermatological training requirements set by the AiCVD Credentials Committee, enabling eligibility to sit for the AiCVD Diploma examination.
The Alternate Route (AR) residency provides a pathway to the AiCVD Diploma exam for those unable to join a Formalized or Individualized Residency Program. This program allows candidates to receive part-time training at multiple institutions under the supervision of an AiCVD Diplomate.
Veterinary dermatologists holding Diplomate status from other recognised colleges (ACVD, ECVD, ANZCVS) may apply for AiCVD membership through a special admission route.
This pathway is designed for specialists with professional or academic connections to Asia who wish to contribute to veterinary dermatology education and practice within the region.
For full details on eligibility, application procedures, and membership rights, please refer to the document below:
To address the limited availability of AiCVD diplomates in many Asian countries, AiCVD offers a Residency-Exempt Diplomate Application Pathway for experienced veterinarians actively engaged in dermatology.
Eligible candidates who meet the required criteria may apply to sit for the AiCVD board examination without completing a formal residency. Applications will be reviewed by the AiCVD Education and Credentials Committee.
Application Period: February 2026 – January 2031
